HOW DO I SELL MY OWN KITS ON PROKITS?

Once you are registered as an engineer you can log into the site and upload your own kits with ease. You can specify a price, add a description and include an MP3 demo. Your new kit will be automatically added to the site and will appear in the 'Latest Kits' box and the search engine. You can manage your kits online. Please note that you are responsible for the quality and legality of your own kits. So, DON'T use copyrighted material or sounds. All sounds must be created by you and must be fit for purpose. Please make any descriptions you place on the site as detailed and accurate as possible. Our administrators will check the quality of kits placed on the site and have the power to remove kits and ban engineers who abuse the system. You will earn 50% of all sales you make via the site and these will be calculated quarterly and paid directly to you.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD A KIT?

Once you have selected a kit that you want you will be directed to Paypal to complete your purchase. Once complete, our administrator will provide you with a link in your email to download the kit from (this may take up to 24 hours). Please ensure you know exactly what you are purchasing prior to ordering. Due to the nature of our products there are no refunds. All kits are provided in compressed file formats such as .rar/.zip to keep the file sizes to a minimum and to ensure all the files are in one place.

HOW DO I SEARCH THE KITS?

The easiest way to find a kit is to use the search function to the right of the page. If you just press the submit button you will be presented with a list of all the kits currently on the site. If you know what you are looking for then use the drop-down boxes to search by instrument/category or engineer and then press the submit button. Once the search page appears you can re-order the search by pressing the buttons description, engineer or price. You can also choose how many results are displayed per page and move between the pages using the buttons.

HOW DO I USE THE KITS?

If you have any of the software on your computer that enables you to play sample kits such as..

>Native Instruments Kontakt or Battery >Steinbergs Halion >Gigastudio >Soundfont players
etc...

Then the files will operate as normal kits. Simply extract the .rar/.zip file to your chosen directory, fire up your sampler, locate the kit file and load it up. Now, simply use the kit to create an amazing piece of music. Kits are also available as plain packs of WAV files for you to use in any application you desire. Please specify which format you desire when ordering. We are currently looking at adding many more formats to the site so stay tuned. Please note that due to the conversion process not all kits will react in the same way as the original format that it was created for. This is to say that different samplers have different features. If a kit was created in Kontakt 2 (for example) and then converted to an 'sfz' kit you cannot expect the kit to contain all of the modulation and effects contained in the original format. The original kit format will be mentioned in the listing so if you purchase that format you can be sure to receive all of the intended features. Please ensure that the sampler you are using is up-to-date and you are running the latest version. Most of our kits will have been created in the latest version of the chosen sampler. Certain samplers do not open kits that have been created in a newer version. For example, if you are running Kontakt 1 it will not open kits that have been created in Kontakt 2. Please update your software accordingly to ensure this does not happen to you.

HOW DO I LISTEN TO AN MP3 DEMO?

By clicking on the 'speaker' icon next to a kit you can preview the sounds contained in the kit. The demo is a piece of music/beat/loop that has been made using the sounds contained in the kit you are currently looking at. If you have Windows Media Player or similar software installed the file should play automatically through your browser.

WHAT DOES PROKITS HOLD FOR THE FUTURE?

Prokits is a brand new concept for selling, buying and discussing sample libraries on the internet. We hope the site will become the central source for custom-made, individual and unique sample kits and become a 'community' based site full of talented engineers and loyal customers. We have big plans for the site so be sure to come back often. In the future we will include a secure integrated payment system, special offers, new kit formats, promotional CD's and a forum to help you to promote your kits.
